How collect your data, and how we will use it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• You want to know more about Parapluie and its services and receive regular updates from us to keep abreast of what we are doing. We require a number of fields to be completed in our sign-up form in order to ensure we tailor our information and communications appropriately for you and do not overload you with unnecessary or irrelevant information.  All of this information comes from you via our sign-up form that we share on our website. Links to this form are also shared on Twitter and Instagram and also via a QR code which can be found on our printed matter at events that takes you directly to the form on our website. 

Parapluie may also receive your data indirectly from third party websites.

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

• Send you information and updates on Parapluie that include what we are working on; news; opportunities that may interest; written analysis of the art market; spotlighting artists.
• Process your order and manage your account.

If you agree, Parapluie may share your data with our partner companies so that they may offer you their products and services.

When Parapluie processes your order, it may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

We never share the information you provide without your permission. 

How do we store your data?

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we are collecting it. Including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. 

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

By law we have to keep basic information about our customers (contact, identity, financial and transaction data) for six years after they cease being customers.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Request erasure of your personal data

This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law.
