Our private Tour of Rachael Clewlow's exhibition 3200 Colours at Vane Gallery took place last night with guests of Parapluie enjoying light refreshments and a tour of the show by Rachael herself. Rachael Clewlow creates rigorous and detailed recordings of her everyday movements. Meticulously documenting this mass of information in diaries, this abstract record of the banal to the unexpected becomes a form of trace from which Clewlow begins to construct paintings and prints. This new exhibition at Vane contains a large body of new work created by Rachael over two years consisting of paintings, presented in groups, which focus on a set of specific pre-defined walks in Newcastle, Rochdale and London.
